COVER PAINTING by Katherine Lynch

"The Blizzard Elizabeth Came Home In" | 2001

When Elizabeth was born we left the hospital in a blizzard. We took a cab home and the snow was so deep the car couldn't turn down Watts street so I held Elizabeth close to me and walked home with her. The snow was up to my knees and kept falling erasing the view of the Hudson River. I knew then that I would paint that moment. I still paint from that moment. I have always painted what I pass by and I have always used my past in my paintings.
